3 Days Chimpanzee Safari

SAFARI DAY Day 1

Pick up from Kigali, short city tour and transfer to Nyungwe NP

Pick from either the airport or hotel in Kigali Rwanda and a short city tour where places like the genocide memorial ground of Kigali, local markets, art and craft centers and many more others will be visited. Later on, head to Nyungwe canopy forest national park a home to different animals including the 13 primates, large mammals like the forest elephants, duikers and many more others. Arrive and check in the booked accommodation.

SAFARI DAY Day 2

Day 2. Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk

Wake up and enjoy a well spiced tea and then a short drive or walk to the park offices at the briefing/starting point. The park guide ranger well-armed will take you into the different matters like proper dressing code while in the forest, guidelines to follow like feeding wild animals is not advised, don’t litter the park premises, don’t mimic or respond to the voice of chimps because you don’t know what they are saying and many more. Begin the trek as you spot other primates like the red tailed monkeys, Lhoest monkeys, Black and white colobus monkeys and many more others. Meeting a group of chimpanzees grants you a chance of spending an hour in their presence taking photos and recording videos. Chimpanzees are lively animals, they keep jping from one tree to another, communicating m, grooming young ones, feeding and many more.

Have lunch after the experience followed by an afternoon canopy walk in this beautiful forest with 13 primates, over 350 birds and more. The canopy is a bridge-like structure made of ropes and wood suspended in the air of 70m high and 160m long. Take a 2 hours walk exploring the aerial view of the forest and different wildlife creatures jump from one side to another. Later on, head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Head back to Kigali-Rwanda

Have a leisure breakfast and then transfer back to Kigali city a journey that will last for about 4 to 5 hours hence lunch enroute. Be dropped at the airport to mark the end of 3 days chimp trekking tour in Rwanda.
